【摘要】:Whenasphaltsaremaintainedatelevatedtemperaturesinthepresenceofair,theircharacteristicsmaychange.Certainblownasphaltsalsosoftenwhenmaintainednear,andparticularlyabove,theirfinalblowingtemperaturesundervirtuallyair-freeconditions.Thismayhappeniftheasphaltisoverheatedforapplicationpurposes.Thispracticeprovidesauniformheat-treatmentprocedureandmethodsforevaluatingtheeffectofthistreatmentonsomeofthecharacteristicsofasphalts.Changesobservedwhenasphaltsareoverheatedarenotindicativeofchangestobeexpectedwhenasphaltsareheatedtonormalapplicationtemperatures.1.1Thispracticecoversaprocedureforevaluatingsomeoftheeffectsonasphaltsofheatinginthepresenceoflittleornoair.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
