【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecoverstheuseofthermalinsulationsformedbyanumberofthermalradiationshieldspositionedperpendiculartothedirectionofheatflow.Theseradiationshieldsconsistofalternatelayersofalow-emittancemetalandaninsulatinglayercombinedsuchthatmetal-to-metalcontactintheheatflowdirectionisavoidedanddirectheatconductionisminimized.Thesearecommonlyreferredtoasmultilayerinsulations(MLI)orsuperinsulations(SI)bytheindustry.1.2Thepracticecoverstheuseoftheseinsulationconstructionswherethewarmboundarytemperaturesarebelowapproximately450K.1.3Insulationsofthisconstructionareusedwhenapparentthermalconductivitylessthan0.007W/mx00B7;K[0.049Btux00B7;in./hx00B7;ft2x00B7;x00B0;F]at300karerequired.1.4Insulationsofthisconstructionareusedinavacuumenvironment.1.5Thispracticecoverstheperformanceconsiderations,typicalapplications,manufacturingmethods,materialspecification,andsafetyconsiderationsintheuseoftheseinsulationsincryogenicservice.1.6ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificsafetyhazards,seeSection8.
